A bed isn’t just a bed..
When a young adult has a clean, safe bed in a stable community, everything changes.
One of the biggest issues our Leaders continue to face with long-term sustainability is reliable, stable, safe and affordable housing. They never have the chance to get ahead.
We’ve seen firsthand what happens when a young adult is forced to live in unsafe neighborhoods, expensive apartments, unhealthy environments, homes filled with temptation, or places far from employment. These conditions don’t create a pathway out of poverty — but often reinforce it.
Moving forward, with us offering our own subsidized housing they will start to save from Month 1. They sleep better. They show up to work consistently. They focus on their goals. They build healthy relationships. They have dignity. And they are ultimately, self-sustainable.
Why Subsidized Housing?
Our Housing Plan
2 Atlanta developers have agreed to provide dedicated apartments for each cohort
These are in a location near our employers, public transportation and in a safe neighborhood
6 units, 12 rooms at $1,200 per apartment or $600 per bed
Our pilot group will be Cohort 7 kicking off this August
Payment Split Breakdown
Our young adults aren’t off the hook with rent entirely.. The goal is to work up to the total amount, giving them time to get a job and save.
So, what’s the cost per bed?
Can’t sponsor the whole year? No problem. You can sponsor 6 months ($1,250/year) or 3 months ($625/year)!
Want to sponsor a whole apartment? Even better.
